When I first entered the working force, I was only an SPM holder. However, I have always been dreaming to further my studies and get at least a diploma so that it would be easier for me to find a better job. Even though, my dream never died, it was also difficult to be fulfilled. Then in 2006 I heard that IPD-OUM was offering the Executive Diploma course to people like me. I thought that the time to fulfill my dream has arrived. So, I grabbed the chance and chose the Executive Diploma in Logistics Management and very related to my job at that time. After much hard work and sacrifices, I completed the course in 2007 and received my executive diploma in 2007. With the diploma in my hand, I tried to apply for a better post in other companies (I have never done this before, because I have no confidence in doing so) and succeeded. Now, I am working with this new company, holding a better post and most importantly I am now receiving a much higher salary than before. Although, I have no doubt that my 20 years experience of working with my old company had help me to get this job but the executive diploma which I only received last year is the one that had help me the most. Not only that, I also found out that whatever I learned in the course are very useful, relevant and applicable in carrying out my present duties. For this, I would like to thank IPD-OUM, STDC, Prof Dr.Selvaraj, Datuk Dr Johnson Tee & Mr.George Ligunjang for their help, guidance and support.

I must thank IPD-OUM for giving me an opportunity to improve and perform well in my current job. The Executive Diploma in Plantation Management & AgriBusiness program has given me deep insight into actual practices in managing plantation especially in replanting. I have been now promoted and given bigger responsibilities by my company and also a big increase in my salary.

I look at efficiency in my workplace differently now. I realize time management can only be achieved if we have other management systems, like transportation, warehousing and inventory. We need these to have an effective supply chain.

First at all, I want to say a special BIG THANK YOU to the Institute of Professional Development, Open University Malaysia (IPD-OUM), Harina Consultan cy and all my lecturers. Nowadays, it is very hard to achieve academic qualification for busy working adults from rural locations which are far away from city. I am a planter wor king at a oil palm plantation at Lambir, Miri. I did not have opportunity or a college nearby to help me achieve my dreams.  Fortunately, with IPD-OUM with its part time working adult programs in Miri, has helped me to achieve my desire and ambition to improve and build my career more steadily. I successfully completed the Executive Diploma in Plantation Management & AgriBusiness. Today my company has given me recognition to my achievement and I am able to perform my job with much confidence now. I have gained both experience and knowledge from this program. The   executive diploma program has been very helpful and convenient not only to me but to many others like me who are working in rural locations and wanting a chance to pursue an education and training to enhance themselves. We only attend classes on weekends and it didn’t disturb our work. I hope with my achievement and experiences, I can now make plans to furthering my studies for a degree at Open University Malaysia.

I used to make business based on experience and gut feelings. But the inputs from marketing and entrepreneurship modules have given me good ideas to develop a systematic approach to my work. This has given me more confidence and great pleasure at work now.

I always hear people say, human resource is the most important asset of an organization. This EDHRM program has proved that this is true. The success of any organization will depend on its human resource, more so in modern and knowledge based society. I have enjoyed the program very much and would like to build my career in the HRM area.

IPD-OUM has given me a second chance to succeed in my career. Thanks to the EDOSH program. The program has guided and equipped me with great knowledge and skills that has become very useful in my day to day working life.
